This presentation will explore the power of Impact Investing with philanthropic and investment capital by integrating tools such as mission related investments, socially responsible investments and program related investments with grant making. Learn how aligning clients’ investments with their missions gives advisors, donors, investors, nonprofit organizations and for profit businesses more flexibility and power to impact communities in positive ways. 

Presenters:Bruce DeBoskey, J.D., is a Colorado-based Philanthropic Strategist with The DeBoskey Group, a national consulting practice he founded to help individuals and families, businesses and foundations design and implement thoughtful philanthropic strategies and actionable plans. He writes a regular monthly column "On Philanthropy” which appears in the Business Section of the Sunday Denver Post. He is a Teaching Fellow at the Boston College Center on Corporate Citizenship, teaching "Corporate Giving: A 21st Century Approach,” a Co-Dean of Philanthropy for The Purposeful Planning Institute, and is a Certified 21/64 Trainer. Bruce served for nearly 9 years as the Anti-Defamation League’s Mountain States Regional Director, and for 25 years before that, as a Colorado trial lawyer. He holds a B.A. from Indiana University and received his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center. 

Dr. Stephanie Gripne is an academic entrepreneur, impact investor, philanthropic advisor, researcher, educator and the founder of the Impact Finance Center at the University of Denver Daniels College of Business as a partnership with Rockefeller Family Advisors. The Impact Finance Center is a national impact investing think-do tank that produces rigorous and relevant research and education, and develops transactions in the area impact investing and venture philanthropy. Dr. Gripne and her research team are currently interviewing over 100 foundations as part of a research project on program related investments and mission related investments.
