Philanthropy is not an undertaking of one; it’s the undertaking of a group. That group might be only 2 people, but it’s more than one and that means working with others. On the surface it seems simple, but when people are brought together in almost any situation it’s just a matter of time before differences appear and tensions show themselves. This is especially true around the planning table.

This session will focus on how to create Effective Collaboration. This is not as benign or naive as simply "sharing goals,” it’s much more difficult than that, and can much riskier too. We’ll pull back the curtains on the 2 criteria that create winning teams, and the 2 factors that are required to have effective collaboration. Supported with process, systems and actions you can take, this will be a focused, relevant session that will make working alongside others – especially other advisors, professionals, stakeholders and wealth holders – more effective, and frankly, more enjoyable.

Presenter Chris Venn is a Partner with The Legacy Companies. Before entering business almost 20 years ago, Chris was trained by former members of the British SAS to protect heads of state, royalty and other high-ranking individuals who were at great risk. Combining the disciplines he learned there with the experiences of startups, growth, acquisitions, business sales and franchising of his own firms has given him a solid grounding that is practical, actionable, and focused on success. Chris is primarily responsible for the firm’s marketing practice, which helps advisors turn perfect strangers into perfectly engaged clients. By combining advanced relationship systems theory, practical field application, and respecting how the brain functions in a selling situation has resulted in marketing approaches for advisors that are relevant, meaningful, and profitable.
