What are the most pressing needs of next gen philanthropists, those 18-35ish currently or soon to be engaged in their family philanthropy? How can advisors tap into their own expertise—as well as the rich array of resources available from philanthropy support entities—to best address them? Many next genners have a strong desire to learn the essentials of foundation governance, administration, legalities, and grantmaking, in an intimidation-free environment where they feel safe asking questions more seasoned philanthropists might find too simplistic. Exponent Philanthropy will share insights on the top issues among their next gen members, why they matter, and resources that can help you better serve this important demographic. This will be a fun, interactive session where session participants will gain knowledge as well as share their own insights and ideas to strengthen our individual and collective support of this vital force in philanthropy.

Presenter. Jeanne Metzger, Chief Development and Marketing Officer At Exponent Philanthropy, is focused on growing Exponent's financial resources and expanding their reach within the philanthropic community. She joined the organization in 2013 to lead their development and marketing teams, and she spearheads initiatives that support the organization’s growth. Prior to joining Exponent Philanthropy, Jeanne served in a variety of management roles at the National Venture Capital Association where she launched a new social entrepreneurship initiative and helped build its membership, public relations, marketing, and non-dues revenue functions. Jeanne is excited about the changing landscape of philanthropy and the growing application of for-profit strategies to the social sector. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and logging miles on her bike.
