Dr. Scott Preissler
is the Executive Director of The Center On Stewardship And Generosity.
He is also the Director of Stewardship and Generosity Education for The
Georgia Baptist Convention in Atlanta, Georgia. He founded and served
for 7 years as the Eklund Professor and Chair of Stewardship at
Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. The
Eklund Chair was the first professorship and endowed faculty chair of
Stewardship in the United States.
is a frequent speaker nationally and internationally, and a writer in
the field of philanthropy issues in America, as well as Christian
economic sufficiency and development in the 2/3rd’s
world.Scott served as the immediate past President and Chief Executive
Officer of the Christian Stewardship Association (CSA). Scott began his
service to CSA as Vice President of Education in mid- 1996 and was
promoted through the ranks to President in September 1999. Dr. Preissler
submits to licensure as an evangelical, ordained minister through the
annual review and covenant of the Evangelical Church Alliance (E.C.A.);
in existence since 1878.
since 1984, Scott and Andrea are blessed with 2 teen children, Stephen
James Preissler & Allison Joy Preissler. Scott enjoys fishing and
hiking, recently walking 9 miles of the destination journey of the Lewis
& Clark trail in Oregon with his children. (pushed the last mile by
