Philanthropic Planning – How it Benefits Your Client and Their Community

Course Description: This course explains why and how financial planning could include philanthropic planning advice.   Studies show that clients don’t know who to turn to to discuss philanthropic planning as part of their overall financial plan.  Studies also show that advisors are not having a philanthropic conversation with their clients, and that there is a need for more professionals with knowledge of charitable planning strategies.  Not for profits are struggling for support and for a clearer understanding of the advisor’s role in the gifting process.  One solution is a philanthropic planning designation which brings a core curriculum of knowledge and expertise for the benefit of the client and the community.

Learning Objectives:  The objective of this presentation is to learn how your clients can meet their gifting goals through philanthropic planning.   Gain a basic understanding of how to approach this discussion with your clients, the most common planning tools used, and the big picture problems that philanthropic planning knowledge can help solve.  Learn about the coursework of the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) program.
